Pollen & Plants Co.
ABOUT
Archaeologist. Archaeobotany. Palynology. Tutor. Photographer. Podcaster.
Currently, I am a student at Durham University studying MRes Archaeology, I have a passion for the study of plants in the past in all the forms we as archaeologists may find them in. Specifically, however, I have specialised in charcoal and Pollen. Admittedly my main passion is archaeological research and I have begun to haunt as many conferences and discussion groups as possible in hopes I can lure, well anyone really, into discussions about plants. So feel free to contact me about my research or indeed about plants in general.
My Enthusiasm extends to engaging people however I can with archaeology, that is one reason for this site which has a convenient Blog included! I also run the developing FLIPSIDE history podcast, which focuses on those points throughout history which can be viewed slightly differently at the drop of a hat, the flip of a coin, or perhaps just warrant seeing in a different light.
I am also no stranger to getting involved with Heritage projects, after around 10 years volunteering at various brilliant Heritage institutions, I was uniquely positioned, call it fate, to recognise a need for an organisation with the sole purpose of preserving local history resources across the UK, and so began the ArcHIVE crusade. Shameless promotion here, please take a look and consider supporting the next evolution of ArcHIVE.
Following graduation from Durham University in Spring and the completion of my MRes, I hope to be back in the outdoors excavating, so if you have an employment opportunity... I'm your Archaeologist.
Last but not least I also have a passion for Landscape, Macro, and Wildlife photography, which can occasionally be found Here or Here.
